Are there any good site about quality of insurers as well as price?
Hi,
Just looking at car insurance and was wondering if there are any good sites to advice on which insurers are good to deal with? Last time I went with what I found to be the cheapest which was Admiral but I had a horrific experience with them finding them dishonest, deceitful and uncommunicative. I guess it's true that you get what you pay for and I'd now rather pay a little more money for a little more quality.
Matt.
Don't think i have ever seen a single website no. Defaquto do analysis of levels of cover but not service. You can look for the insurers broker's think are the best for service etc - there are often poles done by the insurance industry press - Insurance Times, Professional Broking, Post Magasine.... I am sure "Which?" do a survey? If you want the best service from your insurance find a good local broker and buy a high net worth policy though them, then you get someone who is there to provide service for you to the insurer and are paying for the highest levels of cover and service from an insurer. Or buy a Hiscox direct policy, go to Home and Legacy or another HNW provider. Something that I think can be a good bet is go for a good brand assurance product - an insurance product sold under a reputable brank like your bank (if it is a reputable one!) or car manufacturer - they put and keep pressure on the insurers underwriting and providing their insurance service to maintain the brand image, so, for example, if you buy BMW car insurance then BMW expect the insurer to maintain BMW like levels of service. I also had a claim with Admiral and found them to be very good, though their sales side leave something to be desired so do all call centers. Some people do always have bad experiences with even the best companies - and sometimes it is a matter of expectations, sometime down to bad service.
There are reviews sites, but most of the companies don't do well on them as people are more likely to post a review if they have a grievance rather than if they are happy. http://www.reviewcentre.com/products292.html
